This year we plan to hold two separate School Sports.
- P4-7 Tuesday 5th June, 1.30pm – 3pm
- P1-3 Friday 8th June, 9.15am – 10.30am
The children will be competing in their Houses and it would be great to see them sporting a T shirt/shorts/socks in that colour.
The House colours are:
We ask that all children bring a water bottle to carry with them during the afternoon. Please be aware of the weather forecast and send your child prepared with sun cream or a hat for sunny weather and a jumper if it’s cold!
Parents and carers are warmly invited to come along and cheer the children on. However, we would ask you to watch the Sports from the perimeter of the Astroturf. This way we hope that the children will have lots of fun and the adults can watch them – without the odd stray wellie boot landing on them!!!!!!!!!
The PCA will provide a refreshment for all children at the end of their Sports Day, there will be no charge for this as the PCA will be using money raised at the recent events.
Keep your fingers crossed that the weather is kind to us.
Let’s say that instead of their normal Monday morning P5 had an amazing visit from Hwyel Roberts and went to visit Lincoln the Lynx in an animal sanctuary. There was lots of chat, ideas, sharing of facts and loads of fun. We look forward to welcoming Hwyel back to Craigroyston Primary. #botheredness #engagedinlearning #imagineering @HYWEL_ROBERTS
Tam Diamond who has worked at Silverknowes and Craigroyston Primaries for nearly 27 years is leaving to take up a new post as a janitor with AMEY.
He started at Silverknowes Primary in 1992 as a Playground Supervisor, one of the first in Edinburgh . Tam enjoyed working with our children and his calm and supportive approach was recognised when he took on the additional post of Pupil Support Assistant.
We are so sorry to see him go as Tam has been such a big part of our school giving so much of his time, be it School Camps, Fun Days or helping to maintain the Environmental Garden in the holidays!
His hard work, conscientious and patient manner and willingness to help out will be so missed by us all. We wish him every success in his new post.
Mrs Cleland has taken up her post as PT, Additional Support for Learning. She is getting to know many of the children and has already met with a number of our parents and carers.
Mrs Mei Wat and Mrs Fiona McKenzie are taking up their posts in the Nursery this month and will be covering the maternity leaves of Ms Porteous and Mrs McCabe until they return later in the year.
I am delighted to announce the safe arrivals of two staff babies. Mrs McCabe had a baby boy at the beginning of February and Mr Summerfield’s wife gave birth to a baby boy in February too. We are looking forward to meeting our staff babies soon!
We are also pleased to announce that Ms Grimley is expecting a baby in July and expects to begin her maternity leave in June.
