@HWYEL_ROBERTS visits P5

Let’s say that instead of their normal Monday morning P5 had an amazing visit from Hwyel Roberts and went to visit Lincoln the Lynx in an animal sanctuary. There was lots of chat, ideas, sharing of facts and loads of fun.  We look forward to welcoming Hwyel back to Craigroyston Primary. #botheredness #engagedinlearning #imagineering @HYWEL_ROBERTS

Scottish Book Week

Picture1Last week we celebrated Scottish Book Week with quizzes, extra reading activities and the Book Fair.  Huge thanks to all parents and carers who supported the Book Fair, you have raised nearly £250 of commission towards school reading activities.  Congratulations as well to all our winners—children will be awarded their prizes in school this week and parent/carer winners will be notified by text.

Book Week Scotland at Craigroyston PS

Celebrating Book Week Scotland!  We had great fun during Book Week – quizzes, Buddy Reading, competitions… all the boys and girls and parents and staff had the opportunity to take part in the extra reading activities going on in school.  Here are some of the amazing and brilliant ‘Design-a-Door’ scenes that we created, very impressive.  Well done to everyone and watch this space to find out who won the Family Quiz!

Storytelling Celebration

Children started our new storytelling programme in P2 and the last group finished the sessions last week with a Mad Hatters Tea Party. Many thanks to Scottish Gas and the Scottish Book Trust for sponsoring this event. Our Storyteller in Residence Mara Menzies has entertained children and parents over the past year with her amazing tales. We have had lots of really positive feedback from parents and carers and we hope to run the programme again this session.
